About Dr. Jolene Lespes
Dr. Jolene Lespes is a licensed clinical social worker with a deep-rooted commitment to empowering individuals and families through trauma-informed, culturally responsive care. She began her academic journey at Borough of Manhattan Community College, earning an Associate’s degree in Human Services. She later received her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from CUNY York College, her Master’s in Social Work from Adelphi University, and her Doctorate in Social Work from Simmons University.
With a diverse clinical background spanning over a decade, Dr. Lespes provides individual therapy to children, adolescents, and adults navigating challenges such as trauma, domestic violence, anxiety, depression, grief, loss, and relationship issues. She has worked in outpatient clinics, schools, hospitals, and community-based settings—supporting individuals and families impacted by severe mental illness and complex life transitions.
Dr. Lespes is SIFI certified and provides clinical supervision to Master’s-level social work students, guiding them in developing ethical and effective clinical skills. She has also been trained in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), facilitated therapeutic support groups, and developed curricula focused on healing, safety, and empowerment.
She is the founder of Sistren Haven, a private practice and group therapy space dedicated to supporting Black and Brown women and teen girls impacted by intimate partner violence and relational trauma.
